Dear CHE Friend,
Today, Tuesday November 28th, is #GivingTuesday, a day where millions of people come together to support and champion the causes they believe in.
For CHE, we believe that identifying and reducing environmental risks to human health is essential. We believe that investing in prevention, rather than just treatment, is critical for a healthier and more equitable world. With pollution responsible for 16% of all deaths globally, three times more than AIDS, tuberculosis, and malaria combined, we believe this is no small problem.
For the past 15 years, CHE has built a variety of educational forums to bring together the environmental health community to share and discuss the latest environmental health research. CHE webinars, teleconferences, ScienceServs, conferences, workshops, and publications have undoubtedly had an immense impact on bringing the environmental health community to where it is today.
Currently, CHE is in a time of renewal. We are actively working on expanding our community to include new scientists, researchers, and advocates in our existing forums so that we can continue to be a trusted evidence-based resource and forum for sharing emerging environmental health science. We are also working tirelessly to launch a new program called Because Health with the mission of reaching 20-40 year olds with environmental health information.
With science under siege, we are asking for your support by making a tax-deductible donation to CHE. We are at a critical time where we need donations to support our programming as we seek new funding sources to renew and expand our work. Right now, we need your donations to continue our excellent webinar programming, such as the 20 Pioneers Under 40 in Environmental Public Health series. Your donation will also directly support the work of taking technical and fear-inducing environmental health information and creating accessible, actionable, relevant, and shareable messages, that are still strongly rooted in science. Over this holiday season, watch for additional newsletters where we will tell you more about our work in these areas in detail.
Any size gift will make a difference in this critical time for CHE.
With deep gratitude,
Karen Wang
